3D MARK PRO

Wate hell... i mean wate hell...
You guys have R9800XT and only score 6k :S? :Oo:

I have a:
XP2500
512Mb PQI pc3200
Ati9700

and get 6.1k OC and in 3dmark01 i get 20something.

With a R9800PRO i can get 7100p and in 3dmark01 22k

Now with a XT i would get about 7800 and 23k

edit2: it is a 9700 not a 9700pro... just have bios flashed the card

you got 20k in 3dmark01 because of your cpu primarily, which makes a world of difference in car high, lobby low and lobby high especially.

Interman, I must apologise to you and the fellow readers of this thread for my rants and flames last night, my 3DMark2003 Pro score was actually 8104 not my suggested score of 9104Marks, I added 1000marks because I was pissed, I really must apologise, but my excuse is that le vin rouge got the better of me. I was full of shit last night and I feel somewhat embarrased by it, especially as I know you are somewhat of a 3D guru like myself.

Nevertheless, 8109 is a pretty impressive score...don't you agree... and I can prove it with screenshots if I could only find a decent server that can host PNG files...can you help me Interman?

Anyway, i cannot get 3DMark2001SE to work on my current build.. it dont even load up. Me thinks its my dodgy build of XP tho, but I am not doing a re-install for this, it took me months to get it to this rate!

My 3D benchmark score was a miserable 2427 with the following specs:

Athlon 2000 CPU
256MB DDR RAM
Nvidia GEFORCE FX 5700
20 GB hard drive (from 1998)
Motherboard: unsure but bought new only 12 months ago

I upgraded about a year ago, bought the 5700 only last month, has anyone any suggestions for the poor performance? It certainly explains why running Far Cry and even some older games such as No One Lives Forever 2 have struggled so much, given the far higher scores I can see on this forum.

did you get this in 3dmark01 or 03? there's a pretty major difference there.
you should be getting a lot more than that in 3dmark01. it's hard to say what's wrong exactly. try uninstalling software you don't need. defragment your harddrive. install newer drivers. also might want to format and see if that helps. make sure you're not running any unnecessary apps when benchmarking or playing games

That score was achieved using the 3D mark 03........thanks for your advice though. I've done pretty much everything you suggested - still hoping to find a solution!
