“Now days you will see the terms "SM3.0", "Pixel Shader 3.0 / PS3.0" and "Vertex Shader 3.0 / VS3.0," thrown around with abandon and it can be sort of daunting, but if you are in the know it is quite simple. Shader Model 3.0 is the set of instructions that contain both Pixel Shader 3.0 and Vertex Shader 3.0. All previous versions of Shader Model are subsets of the greater instruction set. So, SM3.0 incorporates SM2.0, SM1.1, and other previous pixel and vertex instructions sets.†I put this link in a post that got spammed.> http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjA5LDE= ATI info.> http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjEw Apples to Apples http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjEx Quote:
Nvidia is known for this-I praise this. Ati Is there also now, to keep things moving even more (and recently took the crown). I’m glad there are at least 2 strong contenders. If you are a fan boy and you like; ATI-then you have to feel some pain in the fact that X800 series are not DX9.0c cards. Or if a fan of; NVIDIA-pain in that it more than likely is going to take much more power to run, and maybe even the AA/AF thing.

Well for the unreal 3 part is was a exsample of what the future will bring us,
XLS tolled us that does 20 frames per sec won't matter but they will!! 6800 hasn't been released and there where 5 diffrent previews cards of the x800xt Well for the patching, the new games don't requer them but I got some old games (2 months) that need them: XIII needed one, right ? just to name one!! I'm a real nvidia fanboy that's correct, because the linux support is beter, nvidia has taken over 3dfx and I LOVE 3dfx ;) hehe 2 voodoo 2 in one pc ahhh good old times And wtf is it about the flaming ? Much people are asking them self: 'what card should I get?' Well let's give does people some info so post only pros and cons of the cards! and flaming!! If you look at the review of gamespot (the ati review) You'll see the Golden sample 6800 in action and it's as fast the x800XT and sometimes even faster!! One more thing: The most gamers wont even buy a vid of 500 euro, so the real ati vs nvidia war should be about the 6800 and the x800 pro where the 6800 is beter (benchmarks are higher) amen, N-Freak p.s. This post is only my opion, you can do with it what you want ;) |

I dont know why they keep testing in 3Dmark ... They should test in games ! 3Dmark proves nothing.
The nVidia is a great card and that MIGHT be the card i am getting. But whats up with the GS faster than ultra ?

Seems like Nvidia is better in 3dmark, but bad that there are no actual tests in games, so you cant see which one realy is better. And one more thing is, i wont buy non of them before i know how good and often will atis 3Dc be used, it realy sounds promising.
Whats that GS? Enyway, you mentioned a patch for XIII, i didnt need one to run it correctly, and i have a Radeon 9800 pro. XLS you jurk, no im not your mum, seems like you listen to your mom only. |
