Someone please help me. Every time i download a zip file (dunno if size has anything to do with it) and i try to extract it this problem occurs (just an example, doesn't have to be spiderman, it didn't work with ground control 2, americas army or aynthing else)

*
Extracting to "c:\unzipped\spiderman2demo\"
Use Path: yes Overlay Files: no
Extracting setup.bmp
Extracting MainApp.cab
bad CRC 2b45d42a (should be eb135854)
Warning: the size of the extracted file (155609771) does not match the uncompressed size (155609765) recorded in the zip file

Interrupted
*

Now under here, is what the message tab says the moment it occurs

*
"some data in your zip file is damaged. the crc is 2b45d42a but should be eb135854"
*

well its not EXACTLY like that but its the same problem that occurcs - "the crc is something but should be something". And its like that on ALL zip files, so now i have to use gamespot's download service which is horribly slow. I can't use gamershell download anymore and its so great and fast!!
Plus, almost all files are compressed in zip files these days so im almost crippled when it comes to downloading stuff. Please help!

Edit: and yes, before anyone asks i did redownload the files that didn't work, like the winzip program suggests, but it still doesn't work. Really annoying when you're downloading america's army for instance for 700mb only to find out that you can't use the file!

Last time I had a crc problem was cause of a memory problem. Try using winrar and see if it will unzip that way!

I just did. This showed up.

! C:\TEMP\spiderman2demo.zip: CRC failed in MainApp.cab. The file is corrupt

Now, i can download the file again coz its obviously corrupt, but i know it won't work coz ive done it like 5 times with different files from different sites. Since it doesn't work with other sites (filefront, boomtown) it must be something wrong with my comp or winzip or connection.

My guess is puter. I think it has something to do with ram or mobo. Try taking out one of your stcicks of ram and see if that helps. Of course, I could be wrong so someone may correct me

Well, suppose I do, I will of course lose some ram, so is there no other way? or do you mean simply taking them out, and then put it in again. It may be correct what you're saying coz we just changed the ram here this weekend from 512 to 1500, but i still think the problems began before that. (i don't remember really, so i could of course be wrong) but ive had no problems with zip files before, that much i know.

it might happen cuz of an over-clocked CPU or unreliable memory

check if ur CPU is not overclocked, and try what Nxs said about removing the RAM and puting it back

download the latest Winrar - Click Me!

p.s.

what type of RAM U got? manufactor?

I actually mean take out a stick of ram and leave it out. Just to see if one of them is the problem
