I believe Intel can tend to be more stable than my AMD when I overclock, but then again, I heard the 64bit cpu's are extremely stable, but I still hear Intel's better for overclocking. I like my p4 prescott 2.8ghz OC'd to a little over 3ghz. :francesco:

I´d say AMD because they are cheaper and
as reliable as Intel.

I would love if a third chip-company would
spice up the competition and the prices
would drop

"Personally my home PC is an Intel Pentium 4 2.607ghz and I upgraded from an AthlonXP 2100 and noticed a hell of a lot of difference." Someone said this and I just had to say something.

DUDE, the Athlon XP 2100 runs equivically to a Pentium 2.1ghz even though its clock speed is in fact a bit slower than that.
So if you upgrade from an Athlon XP 2100 to a P4 2.6, it is exactly like upgrading a P4 2.1 to a P4 2.6. That does not make amd worse than Intel.

You can get an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ for like $50 (what I have) AMD gives you lots of power for your money and their processors are just as good as Intels. Plus they beat them to 64-bit, making this statement a bit questionable: " Intel ALWAYS WAS & WILL BE faster and better tongue.gif "

I was just saying that if you look at technical specifications(not just mhz)
you will see that pentium4 is a lot better than athlon xp
