It's AMD, not Athlon. Athlon is a processor from AMD.

I also dissed AMD before I tried it but now I have one and it owns! Personally I think that AMD is better but that deppends on what you are gonna do with your comp. Hope this helped you

i av an AMD Athlon XP 2400+!!!
nice nice nice nice its much betta than a 2.4 ghz pentium even if it haves 2 ghz!!

If everyone could afford it they would be a Hyper-Threading Pentium 4, but seeing as most people are pushed for cash these days the majority of people buy a CPU that offers more bang for ya buck.

Personally my home PC is an Intel Pentium 4 2.607ghz and I upgraded from an AthlonXP 2100 and noticed a hell of a lot of difference.

mine is an intel 2.8 with hyperthreading and i'd still go for an AMD
