FarCry is playing up can somebody help plz?

I bought FarCry today and had the settings on High.... Not very high and once i started playing the game it was extremely laggy btw?? My computer are specs are fast see below: -
2.8GHz P4 (800MHz)
ASUS Motherboard (800MHz dual DDR support)
1024 DDR Ram (400MHz)
128MB Radeon 9600 (400MHz)
16x DVD-Rom
80 GB hardrive 7200rpm SATA

That should be able to support the game perfectly everything maxed so why is it sooo laggy whilst offline? I tried to make a virtual drive but it wouldn't let me etc etc. Can anybody help me out i really want to play it.... TT

Your computer looks fine. Hm... have you downloaded the latest videcard drivers?

yeah i downloaded the latest catalyst from ATi. The thing is i bought FarCry today with a DVD-Rom x16 and have installed it today.... when i play FarCry it makes no usual whirring noise only slightly when i start the game. Do u know what could be wrong as i'm dying to play the game now.... I went on add new hardware and it recognised the DVD-Rom so does ur DVD-Rom make whirring noises when u play have i installed the Rom properly?

No i mean download the latest patch for farcry, the 1.2 one i think. Dunno whats up with ya dvd thing. Make sure ya fitted it properly

1.make sure you have the latest drivers
2. the latest farcry patch
3. try increasing your swap file..
other than that i dont know

1.2 isn't out yet and even after installing the 1.1 patch its still laggy.... OMG grrrr what should i do?!? GameJack4 won't copy my DVD disc onto my hard drive and i can't find a CD Crack anywhere grrr it cost me Â£34.99 and i'm not laughing

How do i install a DVD-Rom properly its properly placed in the machine and everything somebody here must have installed a DVD-Rom in their computer at some point....

SWAP file? whats that? This is stupid if u look at my computer specs i should be running this game maxed with no offline lag or slowdown whatsoever so why am i lagging

yeah it could be stupid :bucky!: ..but a friend of mine had a simalar problem and he did something with his swap file...sorry we cant post a link for your crack that would be warez
