graphics cards rip off

Here, what's the f**k's going on with the card pricing? They make no sense! How come a 9800XT can cost as much and sometimes more than the newer X800? And how come the difference between the older cards is just something like 50 - 100? Someone needs a serious boot in the balls! What a con!

Yes you're right, but that's the way it is.
The 9xxx cards have been discontinued, and the only thing that's being made are the X cards. If the store got the card for its original princing, it's not going to lose their money, just to make you happy.

I guess, as soon as the X cards start selling well, the last 9xxx will be cheaper.

It's a pain in the balls, though. Graphics companys update their tech too fast. As soon as you buy the top end card, they bring another out a few months later that's better. Where does it end? Madness! I mean, don't you think it odd that when Nvidia decided to surprise people and make that "huge generation leap" with the 6800 that ATI all of a sudden were caught off their toes but still managed to bring out a card to rival it if not beat it? They have chips there that are far more advanced than what they are giving us. High-end my bell end! I'd like to see a third party come into the fray! It'd help sort the pricing out I think.

This is really strange. Why would you want to buy 9800 XT for almost the same price when x800 pro is much better, it doesnt make sence. Hmm the prices just lowered a little since yesterday very stange.Check this outits a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra and it costs 440$ USd are they crazy. You can buy GeForce 6800GT for 325$USD with 12 pipes and for 389$ with 16 pipes. I dont know why some web sites dont change prices cause its crazy.

I sold my 'old' Geforce FX5900 Ultra to a friend for £190.00 after purchasing my x800 Pro for £290.00 on its launch day! Hah! So I only spent £100.00 for a new card! Oh and just about to sell my Geforce Ti 4600 to a workmate for £100.00 aswell... Lovely!

The prices of the old graphics cards are probably still high because the new generations have only just come out, give it a couple of months and the prices will fall. Think about how I feel, I bought a radeon 9800xt 6 months ago and already theres a better graphics card thats the same price! I spent £360 on that piece of crap!
