Open your Doom3Config in your /doom3/base folder, and change those lines to what I have,, you should be fine, if that doesn't work, delete the config, and doom3 will make a new one with default settings.

doomfconfig.cfg is a .cfg file how do i freakin open it ahhh!
well thats all i changed so im just guna delete the config and use your settings.. btw thanks for the help i wasnt sure if i could delete the config bc its not like the config in ut2004 which is a text file... ican delete that everytime i f**k that game up

this is a text file too.... if u don't know how to open any setting or config file(in jsut about any game), its usally done with wordpad or notepad

what are the potential downsides to this modification? im runnin a 9800 w/ 2500+ amd, 1gig ram, no overclocking, and it runs butter smooth @ 1024*768 *high quality* so i dont think i would need to do this-although it would be interesting to see how much more it helps..

There is a lot of controversy around this tweak, and it seems to help some people, and not others.
There is also a tweak courtesy of someone from driver heaven that is said to help the performance of ati card users by up to 40 percent. I am running a 9800 pro with 256 megs of video ram, and none of these tweaks have seemed to help me at all... Look into that tweak if you are running ati hardware, as it seems to help people as well... later folks

that tweak or a tleast Fycus' setup is a wonderland for me, i have a 256 mb gaphics card and i thot that since its paire with a crapy pc that if i used Fyc's 256 card settings it would lag ass, but no sir, i used all his setup and i can finaly enjoy doom3 THANK YOUUUUU
i loved this game when i got 0-2 fps everytime i saw an enemy for the first few seconds, now its lag free and the graphics are better too, makes no sense but i love it LOVE IT! this game is the best game ive ever played. and for u gay ass bitches whoargue that half-life 1 takes that trophy, i hated half-life from the first time i ever played it. CS was the shyt, but half life was the gayest shit ever,
