how to run doom3 in a window?

how do you run doom3 in a window.
in ut2004 i just unclicked fullscreen and it runs windowed fine.
doom3 i unclicked fullscreen restarted and its still full screen.
"C:\Program Files\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" r_fullscreen 0 this is my shortcut for doom3 i thot that command would window it... but to no avail.
also tried +set in front on the r_fullscreen.

any suggestions?

Only way I got it to work was by editing the doomconfig.cfg file
look where it says seta r_fullscreen "1" and set it to 0

cant find any program that opens a .cfg file what do i do exactly

Notepad should open it, but I use total commander,

just make sure notepad is set on all file types

the problem persists!
yeah i got the .cfg thing dont wory about that,
when i start doom 3 and i play it in 640x480, it drops my desktop resolution that low and then starts the game, what i think its doing, is runing it in a window that in turn takes up the full screen because the desktop is stuck in 640x480

it just hit me that in advanced options on the doom3 shortcut i clicked stay in 640x480 for some reason, maybe thats why the desktop lowers lol
guna test it now
and if it works in the window now i earn the idiot award!
