I need help really badly. I lag When i play with more than 32 players in Battlefield 1942 or joint operation typhoon, even if i put everything on low in video settings with shadow effect off. I had a geforce fx5200 128 mb 128 bit and it didnt have any lag when i playy with 64 players in bf 1942. Would be really nice if your could help me out Thankx

Someone told me its because my card is 256 mb, that means my 512 of ram couldnt handle it. He told me to get more ram, like 1 gig of ram. Could your tell me is this what it cost me to lag in BF1942 when play with 32+ players? If so, do you need 2x512 ram to upgrade to 1 gig of ddr ram or you can too with 2x256 ram and 1x526 ram?

I have never heard that before! I really don't think thats right. There is something in the graphics options if you turn off makes a difference also. Try turning the draw distance down a little also

I never run anything else while playing BF online!

Oh yeah, it also helps if you turn down the sound quality

its still the same if i put shadows off and put everything on lowest. i even tried reformat my pc and get the newest driver, it didn't help at all. i play fine in bf1942 and joint operatino typpon with no more than 32 players with everything on highest and shadows on. It will start to lag when i join a game that has more than 32 players ,it gets really worst with more and more players. :bucky!:

oh btw, its the same if i play online or offonline, more than 32 players or npc = Laggy.

For a game like BF42, it seems to me the CPU is a weak link. However, I think adding RAM would help also. These games store huge textures.
It would be best if you got another 512MB stick, but even 2-256MB sticks of a compatible type to what you have would help you. An ATI 9600
SHOULD best your old Nvidia card. Dunno about the relationship between RAM and vidcard, but I do know that lots of games I play got much smoother after going from 512 to 1024MB of RAM. The games heavy on visuals really seem to need it.
