im ordering a amd 64 bit 3000+ paired with a MSI K8T NEO-FSR kt800chipset motherboard on saturday when newegg gets the motherboard in stock again,
my question is if i use that to replace an old gateway system with a 250 watt power supply will that power supply be enough to run it?
heres everything that changes from the origonal gateway:

Graphics: already changed
RIVA TNT2m64 32mb 4xagp > GeForceFX5200 256mb 250/400@300/500
motherboard: purchasing saturday
Intel 850 chipset > MSI K8T neo fsr kt800 chipset
processor: purchasing saturday
Intel pentium4 1.3ghz > AMD 64 3000+ (newcastle)
RAM: waiting for new motherboard compatibility
128mb rdpc800ram(64mb x2) > 512mbDDR PC3200 cas 3 kingston value ram
OS: already changed
Windows ME > Windows XP home
Cooling: ..
1x80mm case exhuast, gpu stock fan, processor stock hs&f, psu fan, HDD drive fans > more cooling when i can aford case and etc.
not changing till later:
gateway case with 250 watt psu, 40GB ide hard drive 7200 rpm > ??

will the 250 watt psu be able to run the new setup? also i want to overclock basicaly every aspect of my pc

I would think that would be the very minimum if it works at all! I would at least go with a 450!

don't listen to the monkey, a 250 would work, a 350 would cover about anything you would need, 450 is overkill for anything under a 3.0ghz or 3000+

omg 250 are too less!!

2 years ago as i bought myself an amd and a good graphics it has been said, it's better to take a 300 watt power supply.
now u think 250 watt are enough for that?
buy a new power supply - ENERMAX rules them all.

I dont know that power supply might be fine. I have a new dell pc and it only has a 250 watt power supply!
The spec it runs is:
1gb ddr400
3ghz p4 ht
120gb harddrive
radeon 9800pro
and it all runs fine and has never crashed
I am a bit pissed about it though as i was hoping to swap my radeon 9800xt from my old computer to this one.

PS does anyone know if i might be able to swap anyway as I have read that u need a 300 watt power supply to run a 9800xt.
