More than 4 in Doom3?

I've seen servers online with more than 4 players, but can't connect to them because they are password protected or some other problem always seems to come up. I don't really care about connecting to one, but how can I set one up. I'd like to have and 8-player server or something like that for a LAN game. Can I do it?

Yup, its just a startup command... umm hold on +si_maxPlayers 8 or something, ill google it for you, gimme a second

*=the partition where you installed it. Maybe there is another folder after it. basicly don't change it just add the line.
if done right you can set now in menu the MP to 16 player....I know your PC can't handle it but now you got at least the option and you can call your friends over and brag with your "Special Edition" DooM3"

Cool, thanks a lot, this'll come in handy at my next LAN party. I definitely can't host it like that, but someone else can.

Bandwith usage is on default 16-23KB a player

Had a LAN party last weekend, this worked great. We had about 9 people in at one point. Ran 5-7 no lag, after that some minor lag but still playable. Thanks again for the tip.

lol, I always host 6-8 people. more and my comp refuse to be it's doe worth.

PS: on LAN we had the game running with 16 people without problem....on the better machines :P
