Does anyone else get VPU crashes with their ATi videocard and ASUS motherboard? I've got an A7N8X-E Deluxe and an ATi 9800 Pro and I keep getting them. for the last couple months i've had a lanparty mobo and things were working just fine though. I'm getting pissed because this board was supposed to be better than the previous and it's crashing alot. I haven't tried doom 3 yet, i will in a week though. if i can last that long. if it keep up, i'll probably swap back to the lanparty mobo which isn't as good (as far as specs go) but is certainly more stable than this thing. I'm gonna try some different catalyst drivers, but so far i've only tried Far Cry and CAT 4.7 drivers. tomorrow, i'll try the game with cat 4.1 drivers.
anyone have any input?

try turning off HT (hyperthreading) in the bios If you have a Pentium mobo. In your case, I dont know because u have AMD. Is there something like HT? Turn that off. That literally fixed 1000000000 things for me. I have an Abit AI7 mobo with p4 2.8ghz OC'ed to 3.0ghz.

i don't have hyperthreading. so far I turned off VPU recover, but far cry crashed still.. the mobo cd didn't have any bios drivers, only usb 2.0 and the gigabit lan drivers and sound drivers. should i look somewhere else for bios drivers? well this mobo isn't broken, because i sent my last one back for repair due to this problem (assuming it was broken). obviously this is a problem that just happens or something but if i can't find a fix for it, i'm gonna call them up and demand a refund or a different mobo. this is insane because i've not been able to just have a fast comp without problems ever. now i'm so close i can taste it and this board is what's holding me back. unless i can find a way to fix it. i'm gettin doom 3 in a week and i expect to play it without problems.
