Doom 3 multiplayer problems

you had 60 ping, Mr west coast USA(me) had 220-300 ping, not bad for someone who is 6009 miles (9670 km) (5222 nautical miles) away.

But yeh, if your D3 can't join a server, try ASE.

only at the beginning, later on i had constant 160-200+...to many players i guess.

Yeh, doom3 is very intensive on bandwith, for the server its 23kB per person per second, compared to 1.5-2 for CS, 7.5 for UT2k4

Don't appreciate PG that much. might go for TWL or OGL if they open it up, depending on how things work out i might aim up for CAL.

yeah i've made a lan server and guys from the internet were able to join that was good cos us guys on the lan whipped any internet player that gave us a try :thumbup:

That is something that I adore, how much ping matters, an 80 ping is good, 50 is great, 30 or under is excellent, but their is still an amazing differnce. I was playing some CoD on my own lan server, now im pretty good, CAL level, but Fycus is nearly as good, and he joined my server, and I could with the gun of fycus's choice, kick his ass every round on 1on1, his ping was around 40-50, mine was 10-15. 40-50 is good, but if a player of your skill has 10-15, they will completely kick your ass.

heres the thing, what you gotta do is get a clan that lives on teh same area as you(say a fully german clan, or fully west coast US) and set up a match on your server, which is located in about the same area(most leagues have a 50 ping difference fair level) and have all your clanmates get on the LAN, so they have pings of 10, while the other guys haver pings of 50-60, you can call it in the bag.

yep idd ping means a lot for the pro players, but i dont mind to participate in a clan match as long as my ping wont exceed 100...

Yeh, pro players don't play matchs over the internet, they play on LANs, in tornuments.

Hell they don't even go into public servers online servers.
