i have 2 80gb seagate barracudas at 7200rpm and a 8mb cache, seek time 8.5 (thats what i clocked anyway)
together it acts as 1-scsi hd @ 160gb 15000rpm 16(ish)mb cache with a seek time of 4.3 (thats what i clocked anyway) oh ya it installs quicker too

dude...everything is loaded into the ram to begin with (thats why we have loading screens) all the data needed for a level compressed or uncompressed goes into system and video card ram, so i dont see where you get this 1-2% thing from.
research it if you wont but its a known fact hard drive proformance does not effect game proformance at all all it does is load, even if the game has "no load" times it loads for a split second (morrowind, halflife) but thats so minute it does effect any thing unless you need to defrag, so what you said make no sence, sorry dude but thats a fact. p.s. quote me

not unless your computer totally sucks, usally its about never more then 1 fps.
lol, im kinda of playing around, to have all your things load 40-80% faster is well worth losing 1 fps. EDIT: I saw this in a benchmark, i forgot what RAID0 does(raid1,2,5 i know what they do). So i googled this and got these benchmakrs, its at most a 1 fps drop. hell run after run, most games flux that much. but umm http://www.overclockercafe.com/Articles/RAID/ thats the source. |
