. . . and I was wondering if I should get Windows XP Professional or Home edition for it. I've always used Pro in the past, but I was wondering if it makes any real difference? I use the comp mainly for gaming and audio mixing.

If you say yes or no, could you tell me why, cause I've always wondered where that extra $50 goes . . .

IMHO it really does make a diference. From my experience Pro is more stable that the home edition. As for software diferences you'll find them if you google a little or just go to microsoft and search, cause i'm not quite sure of them.

BTW, you said you had always used XP pro, so if you used it, you probably have the install cd right? If you do, then why buy a new one with the new 'puter? Just use the one you have!

GrayFox just a suggestion but it would help inserting some commas in your sentence under your signature picture. As of right now, it makes no sense.

blame nooblet orion, its a quote

anyway, home or pro, it really doesnt mather.
i doubt most people need the pro version so go with home if you want.
isnt home cheaper also?

and those that say pro is more stable than home is talking crap, like someone said, it all depends on the user if a os is stable or not

You can see what kind of system I have below, and Home i much more stable on my PC,
a couple I things I like about XP home is not having to deal with useraccounts, it's my computer,
and no body else touches it

When I boot for the first time the loading bar doesn't make a half :P
It only uses 110MB of my memory, XP prof uses 180
XP prof gives me an occasional blue screen, even with SP1, Home just crashes the explorer.
Home is cheaper

Well thats about it ... I don't know why I have blue screens with Prof, my classmates never
experience any of them, but I do ...

that it.. good luck deciding
