Demos aint working

Easi right ive been downlaoding a few demos from the Download section of the website (Gamershell ofcross) and for some reason aside form the demos such as the Unreal Games like Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal 2 the demos ive downloaded the other demos such as Juiced and Colin Mcrae 4 and stuff like BAttfield 1942 wont work when i try to start the games up, the problem is these they just minimize to my desktop and wont boot up, and the when i try to maximise the it simply doesnt work.

major problem and is really starting to get me vexxed) help please. My System aitn a sack of crap its a 2.5 GHZ, 512 DDR 2700, 9600 XT 256 MB, and a 80 GB HD APG 8x motherboard also also non of my components are overclocked

PS gamershell is the best game site second to Gamespot on the net B) .lol

ehm yeah What program do you USe to extract em ( winrar, winzip)

eh extracting is obviously not the problem since he can install them.
they crash when he tries to start them.
you wouldnt even be able to install it and certinally not try to start it if you cant extract it ;)

maybe colin4 and juiced is having the same problem bf1942 has and that is, if you are using a higher refreshrate than 60hz bf1942 wont start.
this can be fixed by editing a file to allow bf1942 to work with any refreshrate.
so if you are using higher refreshrates try putting it on 60hz and see if it works.

check your gfx drivers also.

edit: the file to change in battlefield is this file VideoDefault.con
change the "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0" to "renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1" and see if it works (you only need to change this if you are using a higher refreshrate than 60hz).
or just do as i said above.

Yeah i ahve a pretty decent monitor its flat screen and right now i have it set on 1280x960 and the refresh rate im running at is 60 HZ cheers 'molle' sounds liek your right il try doing what your saying yeah ive also just downloaded the latest drivers from ATi the 4.8 or something, so ill post back if i have any success. also is there any other possibilities for my problem.

lol tried what u said molle and Juiced still wont boot up from some strange ass reason, it starts up then goes back to to being minimized on ym desktop any other possibilities. :thumbup:

how about battlefield 1942?
or colin4?
maybe juiced is a damn buggy demo?

its really hard to sit here and tell you what the problem is, it can be anything.
maybe its the demos faulth, maybe they are incompatible with your hardware, afterall, demos are demos and most of the time not the final code.

i tried the demo now and it worked perfectly.

i must say that it was really good too

i was pleasently surprised.
i might even grab it when its out. :thumbup:

not all games like this rezo ...try to switch it to 600X800 or 1024X768 and see what happens ...cuz AAO didnt worked for me on specific rezo but all the other resolutions worked ;)

this game has no problems with 1280x960.
if the game supports it but it doesnt work for you, you got other problems.
if a game supports a resolution it means it likes it, otherwise it wouldnt support the res ;)
i have never ever heard someone say that a res do not work when its supported

maybe your screen just couldnt handle 1280x960.
