geforce ti 4200 - Page 2

I've had an XFX GeForce Ti4200 128MB 4x AGP card for coming on 2 years. Awesome investment. Runs Doom 3 very well on Medium/800x600. However, upgrading to one now wouldn't be a real wise decision. It doesn't support the new Direct X 9 options, shaders and such. It only has Pixel shader 1.2 or something like that, so I think you'd be better trying to go for a DX9 card that's cheap.

There is a little important thing I forgot to say : I'm not a hardcore gamer.

I don't play a lot of games. I'm only interested right now on : half-life 2, doom3, colin mcrae 2005, richard bruns rally, you know, light stuff (except for doom 3)

Facts that prove I'm not a harcore gamer :
I really enjoyed playing doom 3 at 800x600, with maximun quality textures, no shadows, with a 64 mb geforce 4 mx, so judge yourself.

Sure if you like it buy the 4200 X8 AGP ...if you can spend more money i'll give you a better choise .

I'm runing Doom 3 at medium 800x600, with everything turned on, I'm sure I can put the textures at max quality (Autodetect my ass)

The only thing missing is the Haze efect. Can't the NV20 do it?

its a NV25 ;)

and YES it can ...i haven't tryed doom 3 yet ... :/

Yep I run D3 with the same settings. Great lil' beast.

Playin DOOM III @ 800x600 with Medium details, doesn't really do the game justice, but still I am amazed that the 4200 can stretch that far...

played Far Cry on high detail with my good ol' GF4200ti

Had only 1 map where it had probs and that was a small indoor map with blue lights
dunno the name anymore (but there where these invissible dudes)
Luved the card. And i got a good price for it when i sold it ;)
But Still you could clearly see , that it had probs with DeusEx2 and Thief3
