I have been waiting about 3 months now for the bigger companies to jump in and start producing systems with PCI express and I have been actively browsing the Dell refurbished section but Im noticing many over their video cards are X800 SE's, which I don't even see on ATIs site. Im just looking to see if there is a major performance advantage to the XT or pro over the SE model.

arn't the SE the sublevel of the Radeon cards? There is Pro and XT and PE...if you can't afort them you just get a SE...so you can say HEY, I got a X800...how about you. Of course you don't mention that you got a SE...just say X800 :P

SE is only good if they find a way to softmod it to Pro.
SE is below normal though. XT PE, XT, Pro, NonPro/Normal, SE.
From best to worst.

I open a new tab for each forum
close the main forum tab
open a new tab for each new topic.
Takes up to 45 min to glance them all, between work
(tabs open with my thumb button so its quick and easy)

All right thanks guys, I just wasn't sure what the hell that meant, though what you said was my original thought. I have seen a few XT go through that site though so I guess I will have to jump on very early in the morning to grab it.

Current system DELL 4500:
P4 2.0 w/o HT, 512MB RAM @266mhz, TI4200 64MB, ATA100 40GB, 17" CRT
New system DELL 8400:
P4 3.2 w/ HT, 1GB RAM (DDR2) @533mhz, X800 SE 128MB, RAID 0 SATA 320GB (2x160), 19" LCD (16ms response, 500:1 contrast)
I was all set to order my components at zipzoomfly and newegg ... around $2200 for everything except - DELL ran a special and I just ordered the new system for $1400
I knew the SE is not the pro or the xt, I'm just fine with being a little behind - although I didn't know how far behind it really was :-(
My main question is, will the SE greatly out perform my TI4200 ... and will the new updated components make a huge difference overall?
