error message in sfc3 star trek star fleet comand!

hi guys im new here but i could use some help from someone if you can i get this error message when i try to start a mission in the game its a reg error

it happens when i try to start a mission its annoying cos the game starts i can config my ship and fly round the hexagnel map but as soon as i try to start a mission it dumps to the desk top and kills itself with that error staring at me any ideas would be gtreatly appreceated im running a genuine pen 4 3.2 gig with 512 ddr sd ram 200 gig hard drive with a ati radion 9600 xt -4 latest drivers installed ein xp (servace pk 2 not installed ) 534 b patch and direct x 9 ive tryed running a clean version of the game with dx 8 still no luck please help me guys im really really stumped with this one ive also email activision with the error code and they dont know what it is cheers the violator

Try turning off EAX in the sound options. Not sure if that is the problem, but worth a shot

Umm looks like a renderer issue. The game probably needs a really old driver/directx8 combo.
