adding another 512MB ram and a 6800GT will run pretty much any game out there now at high/highest settings quite well

6800 would be ok but i would rather go with an x800 since nvidia hasnt updated their drivers for god knows how long and has a little issues with some games and lags a little in Call of duty.

I dono, I have a 9600XT and I *DREAD* every time a new set of ATI drivers come out because 1/2 of the time my system becomes a lot more unstable with random reboots, crashes ,etc.
In fact, the last 2 new drivers i've installed for my ATI card have caused me real grief. I really miss the nvidia detonator drivers as for years on end I never had a situation where my machine was messed up because of them. My next card most likely will NOT be ATI.

I disagree i would indeed get the 6800 gt why?
my brother has the x800 pro the 6800 gt blows away the x800 when running Doom3 and they updated thier drivers just a little while ago and theres no need to update now thats why theres not a new one. Ati on the other had to update cause there cards were falling behind in proformance ecspecialy with doom 3 when it first hit the street. |

ATi's X800XT is neck and neck with the 6800GT in Doom3 now.
and pwns it in all other games. Anyhow.. on ATi vs Nvidia.. If u have the money.. the best high end card is the X800XT.. all initial and recent benchmarks from multiple sources are showing it up top. The best affordable card is the X700(which is still being shipped), for $150. anywhere between there (6800GT, 400 bucks., 6200, 100-120) its nvidia. |

lol... pr0cs has u all confused and mislead about who I am, i don't troll, flame, or start shit with people. anyhow..
yes the GT is better then the pro. I stated that... its a pretty clear cut choice. 500 or more X800 XT PE 400 6800GT 150 X700(its perormance is pretty great considering its 150 bucks) <100 6200 The other cards are all just wasted money.. they are good. but these are the only ones that really are worth their prices and they are their catagory leaders. |
