hey i am building my uncle a new computer for his business and he wants 1 gig od dual channel ram and pc 3200 cas2 i was looking at some earlier reviews of DDR2 and i didnt see huch of an inchease in performance do u think DDR2 is worth the money?
no, worse latencies, and half the time its worse performance

I am sure DDR2 has higher latencies(the time it takes to get to them) (CAS 5-7 on top end, instead of 2 on DDR1)
I am also sure their is no clear performance lead. I know i saw the benchmarks. at THG i think.. don't remember though..

DDR is limited mhz, it's harder and harder to push it further.
DDR2 doesn't have that problem, it is slower than DDR on the same mhz tho

Yeah, no real performance difference, especially for the differece in price.
Dunno what prices are over in the US but in the UK they are too expensive for what they are.
