Hi there
I am from Belgium.
I have bought FIFA SOCCER 2005.
My pc has a HERCULES 3D PROPHET 9800XT 256mb(ATI chip) graphic card. It is one of the best Graphic cards.
But in the game I only can choose a resolution of 640*480 (32bit)
800x600 (16bit)
1024*768 (16bit)
Why can't I choose 1024*768 (32bit) or higher?

Is this an ATI problem or an EASPORTS problem?
Can we expect a patch for the game?
What can I do? I like to play the game with full graphics ! These games are not cheap !

Thanks already.

What drivers do you have installed?
if you are not sure then go to the start menu,
Click on run, in the box type DXDIAG.
click on display and it will be in the top right panel.
If they are out of date then make sure you delete the previous ones before installing the new ones.
Is this the only game it does it with?
What monitor are you using ie...CRT, TFT?
Do you have directX9 installed?

Hi there
I have a pentium 4 2.8ghz with a 21" Trinitron monitor (sony)
My 3D card is a Hercules 3D Prophet 9800XT 256mb (ATI chip)
I have installed the latest graphics driver (ATI)--> v4.10 Catalyst
I have directx 9c installed.
All other games I can play with higher resolutions.
It is only in the game Fifa 2005 where I can not choose higher than 1024*768(16bit).
I can choose between 640*480(32bit) / 800*600(16bit) / 1024*768(16 bit) and that's it!
Very strange!?
I think it is the game...easports need to patch it or ATI(3D card) has to make a new driver compatible with the game?!
I bought the game to play it like it should, with full graphics!
There need to be done something... Anyone with a solution?

thanks already

p.s. Another question?
I installed directx 9c ... but when I installed it, it didn't take as long as directx 9b version?? It was done within a second!
Is this normal?

Go to "run" in the START button and write dxdiag there u will see your DX version > DircetX 9.0c will display there.

Other solution is finding the config file of the game, some ini/cfg etc, opening them with any text editor like Notepad (p.s. don't mark the "always open with")
In this file search for resolution numbers and BPP 16/32 (screen bit) tweak those files but before u do BACK THEM UP If something wrong happens and you will want to bring it to default.

I do not have the game so I do not know on what engine it is running on therefore I cannot give you the name of the configuration/options file.

Good luck

You know, in this day in age it amazes me just how simple people can be. I have a solution: go and dump that steaming pile of shit that you have in your pc (Fifa 2005) where it belongs: down the toilet. It's just an exaample of commercialism at it's best. It is the Mc Donalds of the game industry so to speak. Just because it is Fifa and all the nice looking trimmings, but on the inside it's the same old bollocks recycled. Go and get yourself some proper footballing nutrition in the form of Pro Evolution 4. There's no argument about it, really. Fifa is shit.

I had the same problem after installing new catalist drivers, now I'm back to Catalist 4.5 and the 32bits resolutions are possible again! Very weird!
