i've bought the original cd's of the sims 2, but after i installed it and put the cd inside de cd-rom, there is the follow message "cd-rom's not found, a cd/dvd emulation software is detected, enable any cd/dvd emulation software and restart the game", i don't know what todo, ive done everyting i could, ive closed every pc program that probably could cause this problem, but nothing. im thinking on buying a copy or download sims patches, but i wanna try this way, if anyone has any idea about how can i solve this problem, please tell me, before i got tired  and sell my cd's in order to buy a copy.

im sorry if my english is not so clear, but, im still learning it

yeh theres a problem if u have programs like Nero or EASy CD Maker installed, which is BS by the way.. I need Nero for burning all my legit ISOs that I download...(yes legit... CDs and CDs of Linux Distros.. every major since 7.3 Redhat, and 8.0 Mandrake, and tons of tiny ones like Arch and some I don't even the names of)

I think some sort of fix was reported. Check Slashdot, they had a thing on thsi when the game came out. they also said there was a fix.. so go check that out.

If you have any emulation software installed then the Sims 2 will most likely not run.
Some people are saying that the software instaled on the DVD can detact if you are trying to or have tried to copy the game.
If this is the case then you will have to uninstall the software.
This includes NERO, CloneCD, Roxio Easy CD and probably others!
There is a patch for this but i haven't had time to seek it out

The funny thing is that i have NERO and CloneCD installed and it runs fine on my Rig
If all else fails then check this out.:- http://www.gamejackal.com/home.asp. With this you can run the game without the CD\DVD.
This is a totally legal site.

This is a way I found that worked and I had loads of problems with emulation software. Go Here and download the Matthew Flavells thing, it's 42mb big but is worth it. I've included instructions to help and if you need help or have any questions jus email me here mattyo15189@hotmail.com

You most probably have to download the latest direct x 9, there are many direct x 9's about and I think there's a 9.0 c or summit like that. Try going to this site and search what you need and if there's any downloads for it. B)
