Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum but you guys seem pretty helpful, I currently have a MSI K7N2G mobo, amd athlon xp 2700+ processor, 1gb 400mhz DDR RAM, Radeon 9700 Pro with this setup i can run doom3 and far cry ok on medium detail but not to its full potential. I would also like to be able to play HL2 with graphics on full pretty much once its out. I was thinking of getting a new graphics card maybe a X800 PRO but i was wondering if the processor is good enough for that card? and if you had any other suggestions or what have you? 9700 pro is a kickass card not only should u beable to run farcry and doom3 at HIGH detail u should have no problem running half life 2. that system u say u have seems to be pretty kickass you sure you have it all set up properly?

hmm maybe i should have a clear out and format because i haven't had a proper sort out in a long time, thanks for the help. Any idea how much longer the 9700 pro will be good for?

9700 will be good until the x800 drops in price to about $250.

ok thanks for the help guys I think i will stick with this system for now have a clear out when i can be bothered (one day lol ) one quick question does anybody know if the MSIk7N2G mobo supports the 3200+amd athlon xp cpu? ive looked around and most places say that it supports 2700+ and higher, but don't actually say how much higher. Thanks in advance

try to get ur hands on the x700... x800 is great..(the XT PE still stands at the top of the benchmarks, knokcing out the 6800GT and 6800U(and if they still had it the 6800UEE.. but nvidia denied they ever made it...) but teh x700 is looking to be 150-200 bucks and well worth it.
