just to be a little lazy, i don't really wanna spend a huge ammount of time checking out specs on speakers. i noticed theres a huge difference in price between the gigaworks and the other two 7.1 inspire speaker systems. all i want really is a quality surround sound experience. can anyone tell me the difference in value for money and the sorts of things that come as extra to justify the price of the higher market versions of these 3? ive never really used anything bar 2 desktop speakers that came free with my old pc, teac powerS**TE or something. so i'd appreciate the opinion of those who actually have them. lookin for somethin tasty that'll do the job now i have an audigy2nx. can anyone sugget anythin?
Power and sound quality.
To be more specific, deeper and more powerfull bass and much clearer sound.
This article has a good cover of different parts of the market through their "representatives"
But if money is somewhat an issue you might want to check out good 5.1 set's (z5300 ), the difference is minimal

yeah so i heard, apparently there's software with the a2nx that can compensate somewhat but its not the same at the end of the day and they have had issues with it.
but money is no object if im gona buy somethin im gona buy something at the end of the day. whether it means saving up or whatever i wanna get the right thing. i don't really wanna pay out my ass for a little extra quality in sound it isn't gonna make that much of a difference to me. what i definately don't wanna be doing is forking out more money for little crappy extras that im not gona use. im definately in the market for 7.1s of somekind.
do you absolutely HAVE to have 7.1? if you stick to 5.1 you have quite a few more options. anyway, just get the most expensive klipsch setup you can afford if money isn't much of an object - you don't really get better pc speakers unless you want to hook up an amp and some "proper" speakers
1337? Nope, most of what you're paying goes for the decoder.
For that money you can have much better, just without digital connection.
