No Game Works, Graphic card problems

I haven't pinpointed my exact problem but I'll describe when it happened and what I've attempt to fix it.

After installing SP2, whenever I attempt any games, and I have this problem with DOOM 3, Rome total war, Call of duty, Star wars battle front, etc...
What happens and it always happens at different times....sometimes 10 mins after starting to play sometimes 20 and sometimes 5 mins. And It actually happened once while using IE. What happens is my computer speaker starts going wacko. My internal speaker will start beeping liike an ambulance and then eventually reboot.
Although I'm not entirely positive I beleive my problem lies in directx 9.0c, I though at first it was SP2 since I heard about so many problems with games. But viewing a list of games it wasn't that and I also uninstalled sp2 since.

My specs are:
p 4 2.4ghz
512 ddr ram
MSI geforce fx 5700
sound blaster audigy.
asus motherboard. I forget the model, I'm not at home.

I've attempted latest driers from nvidia and msi.
I've attempted uninstalling sp2
I've attempted VIA chipset driers (which I'm not even sure if I have via chipset)
I forget what else.

At this point I'm not sure what to try next, I suspect directx but 9.0c isn't removable so I don't know.

I'm not an expert, but that sounds much like you're having heat problems and the processor is overheating.
I had the same problems with an old Computer and it was just the heat - maybe you can try gaming by removing one sidepanel
of your case.

See the thing is, I though that might be a problem, my video card fan works fine, my power supply on the other hand is kinda hot. But before I dish out the $$$, could it be anything else? and could it be another fan?

As far as side panel... that's been off for weeks. Cuz I'm just lazy.
