sorry if i am not a computer genious like you guys but i am a SHE not a HE and i really need help so can someone just tell me how to fix it??

You need to tell us if you have a graphics card or not. You may have one and have not installed the drivers for it. On the other hand you may have what's known as On-board graphics, which means there is no stand alone graphics card. If this is the case then you need to buy a new card which is direct X9 compatible. :thumbup:

An easy way to find out without looking at screens is to look on the back of your P.C. If your monitor is plugged in to the same group of inputs as your Keyboard/mouse, printer etc... then it is On-board, if however, the monitor is plugged in to a horizontal slot (PCI) about two thirds of the way down the rear of the P.C. then this is a graphics card.

Please tell us which one you have. :thumbup:

umm i looked at the back and its a bit further down and is horizontal but when i look a the directx diagnostic screen it doesnt show up that i have one :bucky!:

As the new faq indicates, you will not be able to play the Sims2 on your computer without investing in a new video adapter. I suggest that with your lack of experience in this, you might consider taking your PC to a computer store for help.

ok well someone else told me to get the windows sp2 and i got it in the mail and they said that would have it already installed. should i try installing that first?

umm i think i am going to prove my point here i just installed windows xp sp2 and it now says on the dx diagnostic that i have a NVIDIA Geforce MX with AG8X let me try out my game and i will tell u if it works
