DooM 3 problem

Does anyone know how to fix the following problem?

Whenever I run Doom 3, after about 15 mins of gameplay (more like 5), my computer just freezes. At first I thought it was becauase i only had 512mb ram, but now i have 1.5, and it still does it. it's not because my computer cant handle it, because it does it on any resolution and I can run it just fine on 1280x1024 Ultra High detail.

Can anyone help me?

P.S its not my video carn either.

ok. my video card is an ati radeon 9800 xt
and i can run it fine on that resolution because Ultra High only requires 800 Mb of memory

get the latest driver for your hardware...and it always helps when you post your sys specs.

Not that this would probably make your P.C. lockup, but Ultra high setting is for 512Mb of video memory, there are currently no cards on the market that have this

Maybe something is overheating

my sys specs are 3.2 GHZ, 1.5 gig ram, Ati radeon 9800 xt, and i have all the latest drivers including Direct X 9.0c

I'm pretty sure you have a heat-problem. Take of the sidepanels off your case and try again. Does any game freeze after some minutes?
