Mic echo O_o

I have a weird problem regarding my microphone ... I use TS 2 often but lately when I plugged the mic and unchecked the box that mutes the mic, so I can speak with my mic, I suddenly heard an echo! :Oo: and whom I speak too hears echo, that is not normal. Now comes the weird part, when I mute the mic the sound goes back to normal! :bucky!: and people CAN hear me while the mute is marked !

Does any one have an explanation for that, and a solution? Therefore, the control of the mic will get back to Windows and the echo problem solved once I uncheck the mute box in order to open the mic.
