Im Confused - Graphics Card.

Hi.
My pc is 1.7ghz,512ram@nvidia mx400 64meg.
I bought HL2 today, it runs ok but a bit skippy.
I want to upgrade my graphics card with a budget of Â£100 ( $160 ish)

i need advice 128 or 256mg, radion or nvidia.

Theres so many choices & my head is about to explode!!

I would recommend to get a new PC...

get the ATi Rad 9800...it should be around that price range....but GC alone won't do it.

Yep the 9800 Pro card from ATI is going for a decent price these days.
Or if your shoppe sells them the 6600GT card from Nvidia (XFX has a decent card availiable right now with the 6600GT)
Either card will have Half Life 2 running a LOT better. Your computer is a bit on the low side but I'm sure the main problem that HL2 isn't running well for you is that crappy videocard you have. The MX400 cards should have never existed in my opinion.

MX in general was a big BS of nvidea...and then the sudden support cancelation of the devs....hrhrhr....
