Half life 2 Coop with Joystick

Hi,

Is it really possible to play Hl2 with 2 person via LAN in coop mode or something . I read it worked good for someone, so please explain me how!!

And now, I knew that playing half life with a joystick is not a real gaming experience, but for me IT IS BETTER AND I WANT IT !!

So i ve read several configuration forums and the steampowered joystick config too.. but... nothing worked for me..

I need a player who already tried this out to play half life with a joystick, i have a thrustmaster Firestorm dual power 3

Gamepad. I could only walk with freeman, no lookin with my z axis... PLease Please Please PLease Please help me !

P.S. ( my hometown is germany, so excuse me for my english))
