Half Life 2 CD Key

Hi,

I bought Half Life 2 today, the DVD version.
After installation Steam required me to enter my CD Key but i can't find it!
Where should my so called CD Key be located then?
All i've got is a box containing a DVD and a quick reference card, am i missing something here?
Any help is much appreciated!

The European DVD Version I guess. If it is so, take out the DVD off the box and where the DVD normally is covering, there should be a sticker with the CD-Key.

Indeed it's the European DVD version.
But there is no sticker with a CD Key in the box behind the DVD!

does the dvd come in a paper sleve? if so look on that sleve, thats where it is in the cd version........best of luck bro

it's on the front of the cd case in a plain white box.

The DVD came in a plain DVD box, just like a DVD movie.
It's not in front of the case and a plain white box is nowhere to be found!

I think they forgot something to put back in at the store.
I'll return this copy first thing monday morning!

Yes. It should be where I said it is.

one of the shop staff probably nicked it cos they open the box take every thing out put it on the shelf you buy it and stuff gets put back in and even if they don't put it on the shelf they still gotta open it to make sure every thing is inside then they think i'll buy this for me burn it for my mate nick someone elses cd key and we can play together online

It's not really a matter of luck but a matter of service coming from their side!
They have to chance it since this copy is not complete.
Another thing is that it's not the first time something like this happend.
It's the second time in half a year!

Kinda same thing happened to me with Call of Duty: United Offense.
A Letter at the End of the CD Key wasn't printed. But I was able to guess it afterall.
