why does my wireless optical mouse randomly shoot into weird directions, every couple of minutes of use or so, its from a memorex wireless keyboard and mouse combo that i just bought from comp usa for 40$, please tell me this isnt just because its a "cheap" mouse..

I have that problem with my mice too... they just start shaking even though I'm not touching them O.o... anyway, try going to the publisher's website and downloading the latest drivers...Also clean your mouspad...that helped me a bit... :thumbup:

wow.. i have that same $40 mouse keyboard set...and the same prob....this is what i did

i found if your mouse pad has a graphic it messes with the optics.
i use to have these nice mouse freak outs during multiplay where mine shot in some
direction and spun at mach 10.
i also found out pad and surfaces lighter in color ( the lighter thwe better) respond better

helped a whole lot and thanks, for now im improvising with the foam pad that came under my motherboard as amouse pad , no sparatic issues so far, buying a mousepad tomorow :P

Well done on finding a solution to this problem, I've also had this problem and know a good few people out there also with this problem. I'll pass this information on to them. Bloody good show, old chap.....

it isnt a driver problem/ surface problem most of the time, its the radiation from screens and speakers(older ones), that cause strange behaviour
