I will get to the point, i think my agp slot is broken. I had a radeon 9800 pro that would lock up in mid game after an extended period of time. So, to fix this problem, i put my other card in, geforce 5200fx until i could get a better fan/heatsink for my radeon. So just recently i got a new fan for it, i put it in and now, when i turn on the computer all i get is a blank screen and a flashing light on my monitor, so i thought ok, i messed up my radeon with the new fan, ill just put the geforce back in, but nope, same thing, blank screen, flashing monitor, but.. it doesnt say the cable isnt connected, the computer just isnt detecting the card at all, ive tried reseating the both of the cards several times with 0 luck. So ive been having to use my onboard adaptor for now. So i would like to know if anyone can confirm that this is infact my agp slot gone to the crapper, and if so, is there anyway to fix this without getting a whole new MB

u fail to see the real problem, i think what ur looking at is the stuff leading up to the problem, my radeon most likely wont overheat ne more, its the fact that i cant install an agp card period now. My computer doesnt even boot up to windows, i turn it on, no beep code, no nothing, just a blank screen with a flashing light on the monitor, cant even get into my bios.

yo try this chief!! put your video card that u want to use in your agp slot, i'm guessing its the 9800 right. then pull the jumper on your motherboard to reset cmos, put jumper back(obviously), then try booting up comp........

yes i did, but this problem goes beyond drivers, i dont get anything when i press the on button, not the post screen, not the cmos, nothing, its blank from the second i turn the computer on, until i decide to turn it off and use the onboard, im pretty sure the agp slot is permanently messed, but before i go waste money on a new motherboard, i just wanna see what others have to say about it, and if someone just so happens to come up with a miracle solution for my problem
