I heard the star ice is good but the (ThermalRight XP-120) and the (YS-TECH FD1238 120mm Fan - 4 Pin) combo are better i asked about it on the overclockers web site when i phoned them
up. They recommended the combo instead saying that its a lot better cooling solution.

 so i dont no how much better it is but il be buying my self 1, any how thanks for all the good advice ill take it in to concideration.

keep up the good work people.

oooo i have a rev 2 mobo deluxe with bios 1008 i heard on anther forum some where forgot where though ummmmmmmmmm
that u can have up to 30 percent in the bios overclock i thought that u might need a better cooling though. so im not to sure now o well ..................

any good xfx6800gt cooler that u recommend. so that i may have a speed of (430/1150)

I have the A8v Deluxe with an Athlon 3000+ 1.8
overclocked to 2.4 at stock voltage. I beleive that I
could push it to 2.6 but havn't tried yet.

You can overclock using the manual setting and pump up the frequency one tick at a time
and voltage if needed.
I would suggest locking your AGP FSB though.

This may give you a heads up on the 3500+ capabilities.

According to most articles I have read the 3000+ and 3200+ overclock much better than the 3500+
due to the fact that they were the test platforms for the new 90nm technology and released clocked
way under spec , however you can always get lucky.

Good luck!

clocked way under spec is an under statement, i dont leave my rig OC but i have gotten a stable "3400+"
out of my 3000+ running stressed at only 45-50 celcius normaly not OC it runs at 35 to 45 celcius

I have Intel processor (Northwood) and it seems to be less hot when over clocked, I know it sounds strange but every time I over clock it, while doing so the temperature is extremely stable on idle statues. (I'm talking about cpu reaching 16/19 c on idle statues this is nuts :bucky!: )
After awhile, when I put some music or open a program to "heat it up a bit" it keeps stable 21c CPU and 28C system.
While in stress status, it gets up to 34c CPU & 37c system, not reaching 40 C on both.

I have it OC to 2521.6 MHz (from 2.411, not much of a difference but for testing purposes only) I can get it much higher but I have to buy the VGA cooler first ( because the system will get hotter, while the Ram/Bus speed/FSB are all going up at the same time)

Any way my point was, that in lower frequencies the temp was higher :Oo: but on higher frequencies it gets cooler.
All I did was adding a 90m"m fan in the 3.5 bays, that really child the living hell in there  but every time i go up a notch it gets even cooler. (cpu)

a new heatsink and fan is NOT going to magically let you unlock the AI overclocking.

do not use the automatic AI overclocking.

you are obviously new to overclocking, The time needed to sit and explain to you how to overclock that system is going to take to much time and effort.

look around the internet maybe you heard of Google

Use it. there are TONS of useful forums full of sticky posts about overclocking and what to do.

that corsair ram isnt stopping you too much, a little yes but you have to learn how to relax the timings, learn what the voltage limitations of the ram and cpu are, you MUST i repeat YOU MUST MUST MUST lower your HTT multiplier to AT LEAST 3x to get any type of decent overclock.
2x HTT is the bet for everything especially games.
it has been proven in countless forums that there is NO benefit from using HTT 5x infact your system is less stable and using HTT 4x or 5x WILL DEFINATELY stop you from doing any overclocking.

go to www.pcperspective.com look thru the forums they have a bunch of great guys there with some great threads about overclocking and they have specific forums for each motherboard maker and also split into intel or AMD 64

go read,, read some more and then read again otherwise your gunna spend days sitting here having people waste time trying to explain to you the ins and outs of overclocking that mobo and cpu.

and that 3500+ if you got a good chip will overclock very nicely with some good ram. but that motherboard really isnt the greatest.

Check out a program called ClockGen. Its free and great if your new to over clocking.
