Is anyone else getting poor performance after a while when using the 4x.xx Detonators?
I can run games fine for about 15-20 minutes, after that the performance just drops more and more. Looks just like a memoryleak. If I use the 3x.xx drivers everything works just fine. Anyone found a way to fix this? Brief system-specs: Athlon XP1800+ MSI K7T266 Pro2 Mobo 256 MB DDR RAM MSI GeForce4 Ti4200 TD64 Win XP Pro DirectX 9 Final (had this problem with DirectX 8 aswell)

How about you read my post first?
I said that when I use the 3x.xx drivers everything runs fine. So there's something in the 4x.xx drivers that makes all games behave like there's a memoryleak. Loooong loading times and choppy performance.

Oh yes, I know exactly how to "properly" uninstall drivers.
When changing from say, 30.82 to 4x.xx, you gotta make sure to erase every trace of the old drivers otherwise the control-panel will be ****ed. No matter what I do I still get the same problem.

Well the 30.82 works just fine, but the newer drivers contain some really nice features that I would like to use.
The 4x.xx also gives me increased performance because it's sort of "tailored" to suit a GeForce4. It's just sad that the performance doesn't last very long because of this "memoryleak". Guess it's time to start backing up all my downloads and format C:

Hi,
I'm thinking you have "uninstalled" from the control panel, which is not a good thing. You have to use Detonator Destroyer to really remove the drivers. I had the same problems untill I used DD. Hope it helps http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/

By saying I know how to "properly" uninstall drivers I obviously wasn't talking about using the Uninstall in Control Panel.
I've used Detonator Destroyer since it was made. But now the problem's fixed. Backup stuff, wipe the partition and install Win XP. Now the newer drivers never slow down my system.
