hey im looking to buy a dual set of Ram for my rig, but im not sure wether my computer has support for this kind of memory. (ie it says of some manufactures that the 'this type is specially made for chipsets with dual memory channels' text in it). im not sure which chipset i have, nor if its dual channel enabled.
can some1 help me out with pointing out where i can find a COMPLETE system-hardware review, including which chipset i have and stuff, (this mean no System in the configuration screen, cuz it ain't complete. aah, whatever, just tell me where to find it.) thanks in advance.

Try this: Everest Home Edition.
It's free and it list all you have in your computer. I love that little piece of software.

Hey, I dont think the SiS 684FX can do dual channel. I read that its aimed at the middle market that dont necessarily need dual channel. The Everst proggy is showing that you only have one stick of 512 in slot #1 at the moment, but some pics I saw show the SiS 684FX board to actually have 3 slots in total. Here are some links:
SiS 684FX pic bit suggesting board doesn't have dual channel support  |

allright thanks, you helped me alot!
but still one word: teahat. the damn thing looked a good hi-end system, but im beginning to regret that i didn't wait a little longer for the real buy, or either made one with my own setup. you sure look like you have a big system you got there, don't you?
