i've downloaded all of the Direct X 9.0c thing i can find on line but an error report comes up and says Failed to find DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! i had sims working on this computer before it crashed :rant: and we had to totally reboot aand start the computer from scratch. :nxs: PLEASE HELP!! :thumbup:

Listen to Ranzy my friend you seriously need a new graphic's chip...my little sis has a s3 pro savage ddr running a 1.2 duron proc which is just about enough power to display web page's let alone a game such as sim's 2. :Oo:
Also correct me if im wrong but s3 pro savage ddr graphic chip's need system ram assigning to them in the bios hence s3 pro savage"DDR"
Problem is it doesnt matter how much system ram you have or how much ram you assign the card the bottom line is the card is a stinker and if your wanting to play game's that pull as much power as the sims"not my cup of tea i must add"you need a bigger better card..sorry

Yeah that S3 is onboard crap I think. I think the TS should buy a 9600XT at least if he wants to play the sims.
Here's a link to a Sims 2 system requirements tester... Don't know if it's any good though, but it should be more accurate than that microsoft crap.
