Advice on war games

Hi,

Not a very regular gamer. but prefer that than anything else during any available free time. I am a fan of strategy games. However, I am tired of playing games where you have to constantly build up before actually going to war. Can any of you guys advice me games that are purely fighting strtegy games and not city building and war games. I did play Panzer Generals which is somewhat on similar lines but it isn't so advanced an engine.

So please advice.

These 2 games are the best RTS ever IMHO!! I recommend them highly

I agree with you guys, you listed the best ones imo, I bought Ground Control 2 for £10 yesterday

worth every penny.

Hmm, lets not forget about the blitzkrieg series, they are all about fighting and tactics. In this game you'll have to attack with strategy (unless you play the easy mode). I think you'll love that one, there's supposed to be a demo on this site.
Btw the rest of the games are great too. Good luck!

Rome TW was O.K. and all that but i preffered GC2 :thumbup:

some of these listed games have base-building in them though!

You should definately try Act of War! Awesome game with a freakishly realistic storyline! The graphics are really cool too! The game play is very good, if you shoot a sniper from a building he will fall out of it for example!
