HELP with Audio thingy

I tried to play a AVI Video and get this ERROR message:

The Video runs fine but there is no sound. I couldn't find any Codec for this...well actually i didn't know what codec I needed for that

Well, if anyone knows let me know. it's only half the fun to watch a vid without sound ;)

download this codec pack defiler pack it has just about every codec known to man. Also play everything with this media player classic an oldie but a goodie. besides the new windows media player is spyware ;)

I'd rather know what exact codec i need for the sound of that vid.
It has something to da with WAVEFORMATEX but I havn't found any codec on it.

and I don#t like codec packs...they always mess with my windows. :dennis:

well if its an AVI then there are only a few possibilities TBH. XVid, DivX, VidX (made that one up!)... blah, blah, blah... So other than suggesting you download the major codecs one by one... I can't really help.

WAVEFORMATEX is not a codec. It's some sort of wav alterization....hmm...still dunno what to so
