Weird Internet Explorer

hey everyone, i have a weird problem, whenever i have to use internet explorer (which is not often i use firefox) something strange happens. I use the task manager to find out and when I.E. opens it hogs 99% of my computer and everything slows up to a standstill (and the webpage doesn't load) I also occasionally get pop-ups. I thought it might b spyware but ad-aware nor spybot (latest versions) finds anything, any ideas!! :Oo:

download and install Microsoft Antispyware beta. Definitely sounds like spyware

Still no joy, it wont find it?!?! i marginally confused nowm i've tried everything i can thnk of! Any more ideas??

I don't know why you would wanna use IE but you might wanna try an updated version.
Not the latest version because it has DRM like the WMP 10

I have had that happen occassionally. Usually when it happens is when I exit a web page. The machine will slow to a crawl and nothing else will open or opens very slowly. I go into Task Manager and close I.E. from there and all is well again. Thing is I.E. shouldn't be running......

I have run Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, PestPatrol, and Spyhunter and none of them turn up anything. I don't think it's spyware. Must be a problem with I.E. I usually use Firefox.
