Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft, 20 times stronger or a 1000 times more powerfull,does it really matter?

I consider my console and pc as basic hardware. The image of an console or pc is irrelevant as it are the games that make the difference. For holy Jebus sake, does it really matter if i play a freaking game on an Nintendo or Ps2? I just want to have a good time and get my mind of the real world for a moment.

I dont care who wins the console war, as far as i'm concerned theres more than enough room for all three of them. As long as they bring great original games to play and some stupid arcade EA games so i can bitch at them i'll be happy.

As far as Nintendo is concerned, if you like them that much, get a poster and put it above your bed. Gives you something to do at night and it might get rid of some of that frustration of yours.

(do keep your hands above the covers though :P )

Dear Everyone...and especially John Kyle.

My article was written from a neutral standpoint. I do not, and will not, categorize myself as a fanboy for any particular system. I want the industry to progress, regardless of platform, and I care not which company stands behind those platforms as long as they contribute to the expansion of gaming.

The article, when read and absorbed correctly, simply states (please take note John) that Nintendo are perhaps the ONLY market player intent on pushing innovation rather than churning mediocrity. This is to be applauded, not condemned. However, the market figures clearly show that the likes of Electoplankton, Nintendogs, and other original titles are dwarfed by franchise sequels, movie tie-ins and dull reproductions in genres we've all become far too comfortable with. This is a BAD thing, John. I'm leaning toward Nintendo at this point in the article. I do WANT them to succeed, but the simple fact of the matter is that Sony and Microsoft may indeed win the war by giving the masses what they want, which appears on the whole to be little more than mundane product.

The question the article was written to raise is this: Will Nintendo survive the new generation transition?

You, John, quite clearly believe they will. Contrary to your opinion of me, I too believe they will. They must. Or else what else will gaming have when it comes to true evolution at this juncture? Nothing, my friend.

Your insults to me, John, and let's be clear on this, they ARE incredible insults, are both baseless and without due cause. Perhaps you failed to truly comprehend the point of the article, in which case the blame lies with my writing...but not my intent.

An apology is not necessary, and I suspect that I won't receive one anyway, but perhaps in future you should check your bitter poison at the door and read over the subject matter that has raised your blood pressure, just to be sure you're not insulting a piece that highlights (all be it in big words, backed by solid research) your very own opinions.

that was one of the most respectable and politely written rebutles i have seen in a long time.
The gentlemen clearly did not read the article with anything other than "how dare you assume that Nintendo will die" in his mind thus causing his recepticles in his brain to see the words as nintendo bashing and not a simple statement of truth. and that being.
Nintendo has for years and years been an innovator, an originator (in software and hardware allike). But that isnt enough in todays market. And unfortunately, will cause them more pain then pleasure in the next generation of consoles.

Simply put, If nintendo persists with making oddball GOOD games, games that are NOT normal hack and slash, games that truly think and not act, then unfortunately they will suffer. and suffer to the point that they will follow the same path of Sega. (which i will comment on shortly). The general public, the game player, do not look for innovation, they shun it. It forces them to learn new moves, new controller layouts, new ways to battle and drive. They look for the same ol b.s. crap game over and over and over and over. How many MOHAA games can you have ? frankly after the 2nd one i was tired of it. There was nothing new, NO there wasnt and for anyone to say there is, they are childish fools who wouldnt know innovation if it crawled up their arse. I mean seriously. Look at Grand turismo and grand theft auto. how many bloody identicle games can you have.
Do NOT say they are different cause anyone who goes past the graphics and looks at the game will tell you its the same game over and over. and GTA cant even give us better graphics, its the same bloody engine running the same horribly mundane graphics. and GTA:SA yeah dont even try and tell me things are new. New cars, weapons and you can have a girlfriend. oh and a new city. Then why is it so popular ? Because they took the idea that every white teenage game wants to be a black or hispanic ganster from "the hood" and people ate it up. Frankly the game disgusts me. and i wont play it anymore, and in fact already traded it off. Why ? cuz i dont think games need to be made that glorify the most disgusting part of american culture. - under educated unemployed colored people thinking they are gods gift to man kind and the female race going around killing other people of color in a race to see who has the most expensive cloths and the most tricked out car and who can string along the most b|itches. its a joke,, and Rockstar needs to stop making that game. its old,, it was old in vice city.
There is no point to that game other than death destruction and calling people n|gga and b|tch.

You ARE a nintendo Fanboy. Why ? cuz you refuse to listen to anyone who speaks anything about any other console or who speaks bad about nintendo.

I love them all, i always have and always will. but my main console is the xbox when i play, why ? simply put it has the games i want. that and the fact that i have a 2nd one that is a dedicated mediacenter. its the cheapest full fledged mediacenter your ever gunna get.
Do Nintendo or Sony has that ? NO will they ? NO why ? who knows.

ok now onto the sega/nintendo comment.

At this point in the console wars i fear nintendo could better serve themselves and the gaming market by taking their game creativity and innovation and making games for other people as Sega did. they have some incredible games, but whether its on the Revolution or the GC its nearly assured to fail simply because nintendo has failed in this last war. and people do not buy loosing consoles. That and nintendo really really needs to stop making 90% kiddy games. they need to start focusing on a higher age bracket for their games. if they dont they are another foot in the grave.
