This is a message to Stevie Smith (http://www.gamershell.com/articles/941.html) that I want everyone to see. And for all of you Microsoft and Sony fanboys to keep your mouths shut, and give in to the truth:

Stevie Smith,
Words cannot describe how much I hate you. You ramble on and on describing the path that Nintendo is taking to walk right into its own demise. Talking about the pointlessness behind innovation, and that sheer power and performance is the only thing driving the videogame industry.

You attempt to convice us all that the PSP out performs the DS, despite the DS's sales wich are doubling the PSP's. You tell us that the Revolution will fail. That because of its lacking of information at E3, it will surly fall. That Sony and Microsoft will be in a battle for 1st place in the videogame wars while Nintendo will be left in 3rd...You have no right to live. Is there not a reason Nintendo held back Revolution info at E3? They know Sony and Microsoft will undoubtingly steal all of thier ideas, as they have in the past. Nintendo created the Analog stick, only for Sony to move on in and swipe it; As did Microsoft. And the same thing goes for the rumble technologey when it was first introduced with the release of Starfox 64. Sony was quick to steal that idea, as was Microsoft in the future. And there has been word that since E3, Microsoft has picked up on the "Downloadable games" bit for the Revolution. They will take it. And ruin it.

But even after all of your meaningless words revolving Nintendos certain demise, I can't be sure to myself on weither your with Nintendo or against them. But you speak exagerated words of sensless Sony and Microsoft fanboys. Those of wich are cinvinced that the only way to play games is through sensless destruction, and violence. And that any bit of sumbstance containing creativity or innovation must be immidiatley disregarded. Thier minds clouded by meaningless gadgets wich show no relativity to the concept of gaming. Used only as a way to mark-up the price of the console; and to fool you all into beliving the price is what determines the overall quality and performance of the console. So you must be against us. Nintendo will never die! But there seems to be few of us left to belive so.

What happens to Sony when Blu-Ray technology fails to remain in the market? When the HVD (Holographic Versatile Disk) will be released, and the Blu-Ray is never again used. The Blu-Ray costs tons money to produce, and will easily rise the cost of some games to $70. And many companies won't spend the millions of dollars to adopt the new format. Sony falls. What about Microsoft? What happens when we see the end of the Halo trilogey? Microsoft has nothing else to show us, and will fade into history. While Nintendo has its ongoing 1st party titles to continue, alog with thier many newly-adopted third party publishers. Nintendo lives.

So tell me now why you along with all of the other pathetic Sony and Microsoft fanboys choose to ramble on about things you very well know will never happen. Nintendo took video games, and made them what we see today. Nintendo shows us what gaming was meant to be, and refuses to produce what the other companies do to extract every cent they can out of us. The $400 PS3 with boomerang controllers. And the Halo3-based Xbox 360 that will milk money from Microsoft fanboys with unnessisary over-priced $10 "Skins" will both fade from the planet.

NINTENDO WILL NEVER DIE

you're a fanboy

you've got to admit that it's not really good for nintendo to be released last, Xbox360 will already start attacking the market by the end of this year and afterwards will come the PS3, these consoles will already start selling bigtimes, but off course the Revolution will have his fans buying it, and all the ppl that want to play the old dl-able games, but still the market will already be taken for the mayority. I just hope nintendo's console wont be to expensive, thus enabling more gamers to buy it.

you're having a good rant there my friend, and I agree that Stevie was a little to "DOOOOOM"-thinking in his article, but he does have a point ya know.

PS: your point that the PS3 would fall if the HVD comes to replace the blu-ray disc is kinda double-egded, because I don't think the revolution has HDV, now does it??

to say it in your own words

The fact that the Revolution is being released into the market 3rd could pose as a problem for Nintendo. But could also prove to help Nintendo in the end. It has more time obveously to produce better hardware, and to fix problems that say the 360 may have during it's release in November. Most people will wait for price drops on the other consoles due to thier rediculus costs, wich will encourage people to wait until the release of the Revolution. So I half admit that It's not a great move on Nintendo's part. Although I think it will help.

But as far as the Blu-ray problem goes, no. The Revolution will not suppport HVD. But you have to consider the the time and money it would take to completely switch from what we have right now. And that Sony fans will paying tons of extra cash to continue using a format that is only acting as a transition between DVD, and HVD. Don't forget the expected pricerange of the PS3 now. $400-500. And with the expectation of higher cost in games, this could pose to be a much larger problem than Nintendo's.

One last thing. Nintendo is planning to realease the Revolution at around $200. This doesn't mean it isn't good, it means that they are expecting an initial loss to encourage an increase in console sales. They will then gain with the purchase Revolution games, and downloadable games. This poses a threat to Microsoft, and espenially Sony. Right now heres how it looks like the prices of consoles will stand:

Revolution-around $200.
Xbox 360-around $300.
PS3-$400-500.

This thread only shows one of two things and a third that's very obvious.

Choose only one:
You don't know how to read and thereby didn't understood the article
You are a frickin fanboy that trembles to least bad mouthing about your idols and go to fling poo in all directions, trying to somehow bring the other guy down

The obvious thing, you don't respect other ppls opinions.

AS FOR MY OPINION

I don't consider some of the points valid, but most of it makes perfect sense. My sincere opinion is that most of the PS2 owners, and i say most, because a very large group that does own a PS2, hasn't touched it since ages, will wait for the PS3 before making a choice, between X360 and PS3. There will be a very small group that will wait for the Revolution, but most of the ppl will by revolution, the same way that they bought Gamecube, as a second console.
MS has the chance to steal some of PS2 followers because it comes in time for xmas!! and that is a very big plus in my book.

OH and none of the next gen consoles were working on E3. X360 was two G5 pcs and the PS3 was something that i don't really know!!

Flame me now, i'll be waiting!

"Microsoft and Sony fanboys to keep your mouths shut, and give into the truth."

Your only irritated because you fail to respond to my opinion (since you seem to also not respect peoples opinions) in an intelectual manner. And that you you have no means of countering my statements with substance relavant to the topic. Wich then forces you to disagree with me in the only form your capable of...Pathetic insults. If your going to respond to my topic, please do it with some form of intelegence, rather than just shooting off random insults wich do nothing but bring yourself down.

Read what XBlackXLabelx said, he diddn't insult me, he responded in a way that has meaning. And not through the mouth of an annoyed MS or Sony fanboy. Thats how I'd like you to respond to what I say.

Starting off your post like that is nothing but mudslinging. You started this topic with the intention of flaming the author of the article, and now you are surprised that someone flamed you?

That original post is one of the most fanatic "fanboi" defenses I have ever seen, anywhere.

I see Kindergarten in the future of this thread.

I started this topic to talk with people who agree with me, thats why I said it. So its bacause of people like you that we can't have an intellegent "debate" or so I'm going to call this. So stop skipping around the topic, and tend to the topic at hand. Now, if anyone has anything to say relating to the topic they may now say it.
Your not making much sense. You want to talk to people that agree with you?

Then why address the topic to someone who obviously doesn't agree with you?

As far as the topic goes, there's no "debate" to be had. I could give a flying rolling donut if Nintendo lives or dies.

However, I question rather you could go on living if they did fold up. :P
