Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance II

I need some help with this game.

When looking at a weapon... it shows the power in this format 1-8 or something along those lines..

Sometimes the second number is really high like 4-15 or something like that..

what does this actually mean. I can't figure it out...
it dosen't say anything in the instruction book and i can't find it in any strategy guides

It's the damagepotential the weapons have.
BG2 is D&D based, so that means, if you're really lucky, the highest damage you can do is the second number. The lowest damage is the first number.
Pretty simple actually. Divide the Damage from the HP's. And your enemy is gonna die when it has reached 0.
