Hey, People.

Evolution granted us opposing thumbs. We can use them for various things, all of which elevate us above the monkeys...or Platform Specific Fanboys as they've come to be known. The ability to type on a keyboard while tapping periodically on the Space key...with said thumb(s)...is only one such example of our carefully honed skill and nuance.

The GamersHell reviews for both Colloseum: Road to Freedom and Killer 7 are now posted.

Read me: Colloseum: Road to Freedom

Read me too: Killer 7

Please, please, please (don't make us beg), give them a read, and offer your game-related, review-related feedback.

Are we hitting the right points?
Are we producing decent coverage?
Do you generally rely on our opinions?
Are the reviews well presented?
Is there anything missing you'd like to see implemented?
Do you agree or disagree based on your own experiences?

We really want to evolve for you, as writers, as editors, and most importantly, as game reviewers. We value our thumbs, but we want to grow them a little further...all for YOU!

Feedback!

:P

Ok this is for Killer7

Are we hitting the right points?

I guess the gameplay aspect and surroundings were described detailed.
The control struck out to be the greatest "flaw"

Are we producing decent coverage?

As far as this game goes yes.

Do you generally rely on our opinions?

No

Are the reviews well presented?

Don´t quite get what you mean...:bucky!:

Is there anything missing you'd like to see implemented?

Nah at least in this review all bases were covered.

Do you agree or disagree based on your own experiences?

Since I only play PC I can´t say much regarding to that, as a player the description
of the control method would have helped to make a decision if the game is worth
the money or if I would have prefered an other method of control and therefore dismissed
this title.

You describe detailed the mood of the game and the characteristics of the game-characters
the different personalities and their fighting methods etc.

So Good Review!

Great review! Nice intro too! I was really looking forward to trying Killer 7 out...until I had to ebay my PS2 for food!

Is there anything missing you'd like to see implemented?
Im not sure if anyone else is usually interested, but I usually like to see a brief mention of who developed the game, its background and such. Then you can kinda tell which audience it was meant for and what they were trying to achieve.

Also most other review sites split the review into sections like: (Intro), Gameplay, Story, Graphics, Sound, Overall Impression, with subheadings, which makes it easier to read on the whole. Whereas GH reviews are usually just split by adverts! (I know these are necessary tho!)

Do you generally rely on our opinions?
I generally do read reviews before I decide whether I want the game or not, and Im usually convinced when I read what a games about, if it does something new, and if it succeeds or not. eg like boiling point:road to hell I thought was a nice idea, but I also read that it didnt pull it off so well, so I didnt get it. Whereas I probably wont stop to read a review before getting a game like STALKER, cos I've seen many videos and it looks pretty impressive already!

But you wrote about all the other things, graphics, sound, gameplay, longevity, value for money etc. which is what most people wanna read! 10 points!!

Road to Colloseum review:

The closing paragraph mentions, for the first time, problems with the game's AI. What problems? Do they get stuck running into walls, charge onto another guy's spear, whatever.... just what the heck is he talking about when he says "Problems"

To me, bad AI in a single player game can well ruin the experience. As a reader I am left to assume, because of the game's overall rating, that these problems aren't very bad. But I sure want to know more about these AI problems.

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here, but I was enjoying the review and thinking I really want to play this game, then that last sentence really jarred me.

Good points one and all.

Please continue. We will absorb, process and improve. We aim to please.

As for the 'other sites split reviews into category sections' point. Would readers generally prefer to have that split layout, where specific elements are hightlighted above each paragraph, e.g, Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Value, Multiplayer, etc?

I'm sure this is something we could consider if the demand exists.

Also, we'll endeavor to clarify the AI statement in Colloseum for you, and rectify where needed. Apologies for the confusion.

Keep the comments comin'...we want to know what everyone is thinking when it comes to improvement.

Bucky, I wrote that review, sorry for leaving out the AI information, I must've grabbed something to eat during that paragraph

Mistermostyn is going to fix that up for me and add a few lines about the AI, but I can tell you about here as well ;)

The A.I. can be very stupid at times. In the "Battle Royal" mode, where there are usually 3 opposing gladiators in the arena, there will be times when you fight one gladiator while the other two just stand there. Eventually they will start to fight with each other, but it still looks very weak just seeing two guys who should be fighting for their lives with blank stares on their faces. Also, during some of the fights against animals, such as bulls, the A.I. will also stand still and let you do all the work. They will swing occasionally and this isn't a major problem, but it just seemed a little out of place.

This isn't a major problem, I still think the game is great. During the one-on-one duels, the computer opponents are very tough, so don't worry about being able to breeze through this game without a problem.

I had something like that added to my review, but I used 2 sentences instead of a big ol' paragraph like that one

Thanks Man

I have always had a thing that someone should come up with a kickass gladiator game, but its been a very sadly overlooked part of history.

If it sounded harsh, it wasn't meant to be, just pointing out what struck me. I really like the idea of the game, so I will definitely check it out.

I hadn't heard a thing about this til I read your review, so  for clueing me into a game that I'm sure I will enjoy
