i have a 9800 pro and the same specs (3.0ghz, 1 gig ram) and the game runs fine with everything on moderately high settings, except when i turn on texture detail high. It is not a huge deal tho, turn texture filtering on high and textures on medium and you get about the same effect as texture high.

not if you have shadows and lighting on highest. Yes, sometimes the shadows are pixelized, but since we dont have top of the line graphics cards, we wont see top of the line graphics.

oh i c, i thought the 9800 pro was able to run shadows without problems though, and in BF2 there is a problem.....they look like crap, I have shadows on high too and lighting as well, just not textures.. :bucky!:

I've stopped playing BF2 in the hope patch 1.03 will sort the majority of probs im getting(single+multi)
Its mainly choppy gameplay and crappy shadows thats doing my nut in although theirs a 101+ other things the 1.03 needs to address.
I was suprised how bad BF2 performance was on my comp, the easiest way to determine it was a prob with BF2 and not my puter was to reinstall HL2,Farcry+Doom3 to see if they played smooth as ever, which they do.
I still reformatted xp pro/updated all system drivers, etc*yawn*etc and still choppy performance?
Weird thing is the ingame FPS counter records 90+ but it don't feel smooth at all, what i like to call a "code clunker"

My in game settings are 1024x768,all maxed out,no aa or af.
Relevent specs,amd64 4000,asus a8n deluxe,2xgig sticks corsair cas2 plat,his x850 xt pe,2 mb adsl.
Peeps with faster puters suffer the same ingame issues, peeps with slower puters don't suffer any ingame issues, what gives?
The game is awesome but im still gonna leave it alone in the hope 1.03 gives me a better BF2 experience,at the moment its starting get 2annoying.
*fingers crossed for 1.03*
