I dont like mutations and that freaking game is full of them, I've just got it for counterstrike and day of defeat.
Gabe newell needs to create monsters uglier than him to be able to look in the mirror and think he's attractive.

Yea, I mainly play CS:S, but I still play a few levels of HL2 now and again. There are a few levels I really like, like the first one and 'red letter day', and some of the end ones (cant remember the names!) but the buggy and hovercraft levels made me feel nauseous!
I had to tweak the walkspeed tho to enjoy it better...it was hardly different to the runspeed, and i hated running all the time. :P |

BTW has anyone tried the first level of Minerva: Metastasis (episodic single player mod)?? It's amazing so far, looks like HL2 (ie gorgeous), but feels completely different, with a few added touches and great open level design. Has some nice original music in there too (in mp3 format woot!).
 13megs, lasts you an hour or so if you play it at a good pace. :thumbup: Minerva: Metastasis mod for HL2 |

i've seen screens of it and it looks.... exactly like Half Life.
what is this originality I keep hearing of? oh well hopefully I'll have time to play it tomorrow.

Ok when I said 'amazing', I meant its cool as far as one level can go! You only get the beginning of a story of some kind, and the level design gives you more of an impression of freedom. It's nicely done, with some extra touches.
But other than that its just one level that looks exactly like HL2 as you say! Worth trying tho! BTW Lost Coast comes out 'next week'!! Dunno how seriously to take this even though Valve cant possibly be lying the 7th time....can they?? :P |
