STALKER in 2006

Now this is old news , but regarding this article ,

they say that a big publicity campain would mean stalker is a half a year away. So definately not in 2005 .
Its october and theres nothing on stalker . Does this mean yet another delay ? It was supposed to be january 2006 , if its delayed until summer or even autum those guys at THQ really suck . I hope they suffer from bad sales as much as we suffer from all the delays.

It aint rocket science ! guys at nasa launch a missle each year !

Yea, possibly been waiting for this one longer than I did HL2! Last I heard it was gonna be April/May 2006. No sense holding your breath for games like these though, cos when its out there's only gonna be another game to hold your breath for....just breathe man! :P Enjoy it when its out, and there's loads of games coming out in the meantime.

Who says it owed to you at any particular time? If youre "mad" at the company who makes a game that not out when "you" want it then dont buy it. You dont have shares in the company. They dont need to get it out for you or anyone, until its done. Which means all facets of the game, including marketing, financial stuff, etc. is completed. It IS a business you know. ;)

Oh, so if im just a silly customer its ok to delay games , what if your local supermarket delayed all those things you eat everyday ? the game is by far not as vital as that but still... Like you need to eat i need entertainment to forget about the crappy life i live , and if that means staring at a stupid screen for 10 hours , well ... GAME ON !

The game was delayed about 4 times , its not fair to the fans , its not fair to the customers , its not fair to the share-holders , come to think of it ,does anyone benefit ? The company you say... I dont think so , if you look at the poll most of the votes are : "I`ve lost faith".

"the company" should have milked it while it was hot back in 2004 , when even guys who didnt have a clue about videogames used to ask me when stalker comes out. This game better be mind-blowing , i better cry at the ending or all this hype is for nothing.

There is some benefit to these delays. The devs benefit because they get to perfect the thing they spend every waking hour working on, and we benefit because we get the very best product that they can produce. It's only taking so long cos there are probably a few minor AI bugs to fix, and some yet to be found. Plus there's no set formula they're following like other more generic games use on consoles to churn out regular but mundane titles. Stalker's an ambitious and original project that might live up to the hype or be a disappointment. Catch 22 is the more time they spend on it, the better the game will be, but at the same time the more the hype will develop!

I doubt they'll make any less money tho, cos I dont think many people will resort to boycotting the game when its out or anything, even those who've 'lost faith'

Yea delays suck, and its better if they just keep it a secret until they really are nearly ready. tbh if you want a better example of how not to give release dates, look at Lost Coast! (Total of 6 delays since the end of 2004 for a 15 min single level!) :P

Ive been waiting for this game for about 4-5 years now. Like someone said, they shoulda milked it when it was hot in 2004. Now they are just pissing people off and not uploading any good news. This is just gonna piss people off and cause them to lose faith. I also was one of the people who beefed up my computer just to play this game. But by the time they release it, my shits gonna be outta date. Also the games graphics will be outta date. I just hope that the game is successful and they make a profit out of it because they are spending all this money to spend extra time to work on it. Pissing people off isnt gonna help. If this game flops they are gonna lose alot of money. Or they will make a small profit and spent all this extra time for nothing. I did play a beta test version although it wasnt all there, but it was well coded. Lets just hope they know what they are doing and all this faulty hype becomes a reality. This game better turn me into a zombie and have me stuck on my monitor for months. Cuz whos gonna be thinking of this game when XBox 360 is out and Playstation 3 is getting ready for release? WHat a great time to release huh.

But on the other hand, you gotta stop and think... Games arent that easy to make. Especially when you have all the other games for competition. ALso after completing a game, its even harder to go back into the code and change it. Im pretty sure the developers are doing their best to get this game released. But they should have released it a while back right before battlefield 2 came out. But who knowz....they might have something up their sleeves.

So it pretty much goes both ways. JUst be patient. Good things come to those who wait.
