Talk about it (so I can get even more annoyed that I don't have it. yet)

Fine ya bastages!

I went and got it today

Great game, some needed improvements were included. It really is shorter, I just finished a game in one sitting, which was pretty much impossible in Civ3.

Monkey, go get it!

I really want to get it.... Is it worth getting for multiplayer? Or is the singleplayer the main aspect of the game? I know that it is a singleplayer game, but the reviews saw the mplayer is good, but I was wondering if you would play the mplayer now and in the future? or is it more of a gimmick...?

I'm really disappointed in Civ 4; it's just no more fun. Yes, they fixed some things that were annoying in the previous game, but they didn't make it better, in fact they screwed it up! The interface is just such a mess! It's like the dashboard on a Jaguar; you can’t find anything on it, where the Civ3 interface was nice and clean - fewer buttons which did the exact same work. The Graphics are nice but it’s kind of hard to distinguish a warrior from an archer and hard to see if you have any units in a city and how many of them are in it. Another thing is that there just isn’t enough time! The 650 turns in the normal setting fly by very fast - 6h55min to be exact, that’s how long it took me to finish my first game. Where in civ3 you would play the same game for weeks. Before it took so long for 2 reasons:
#1 the worlds we bigger in civ 3 (huge in civ4 is like standard or maybe large in civ3)
#2 unbearable loading times in civ3 which we "fixed" in civ4 (probably because the worlds are smaller)

The world builder - Where is it? Oh no it’s not in the start menu, nor in the game's main menu, no no no. You have to start a new game and then you can enter the world builder to edit the game that you just started... What the F*ck!?

I have so much more to say, ill maybe do it later on. To tell the truth I just hope they release a new expansion that would fix this game because this is just a huge waste of money, it would maybe appeal for young players (8-14 years old) on people who have never played previous civ games or rts'.

I couldn't disagree more with you. The game plays very smooth, and the information is in different places then you are used to.

It is all available, it just takes some adjustment to find it is all. In fact, by the end of my first game, I was really appreciating how easily several things were to find.

There are huge improvements in the military units, they can now get promotions that specialize in specific tasks. The inclusion of religions is brilliant.

Diplomacy is hugely improved, and I really, really Love the idea of the closed or open borders.

This version of Civ gets 5 stars from me. It's a fantastic game.

Fycus: Haven't had a chance at the MP yet. I'm thinking it's much more manageable now given that the games are shorter.

I noticed, reading on other forums that people are split in 2 sides; those who would 100% agree with me and those who would 100% agree with you. This game gets 5 stars from me too ...but thats out of 10

I've noticed the same thing. Seems like there is no middle of the road with this game, it's either love or hate.

I'm interested to see how it goes with people that aren't hard-core Civ fans.

Play it some more, who knows, maybe it'll grow on you ;)
